Welcome to another Selfie Sunday. You’ll notice that I’ve changed the naming convention to a countdown!
I want to tell you about the first picture – it’s me being optimistic before a ride that never happened. I finally got my bike back and was super excited to ride. When I get to the path they were shooting a commercial (and I felt for this woman because it was cold and she was in a bikini trying to look like she was having fun hitting a volleyball around while men screamed commands at her.) I tried to capture it in my selfie.
So I pushed off and my handlebars fell down. To paraphrase comic Ron White, they fell down. They fell down. They fell the fuck down. Aaaand, my bikemare continues. My frankenbike has an adjustable stem and it looked like at some point (maybe getting it in and out of the car ?) I knocked it loose. I’m very lucky that it happened at the beginning of the ride when I didn’t have a bunch of speed built up, I could easily have gone over the top and hurt myself. So it was back to the bike shop and Phyxius and I are now the proud owners of non-adjustable stem and it seems like the bikemare is finally over and I was back in the saddle for an easy 2 hour ride.
Here are this week’s selfies (I’m missing the workout on the bike trainer. I guess in all the excitement of riding on a trainer – for those of you who’ve never done it, that’s totally sarcasm – I forgot to take the picture!)
Can’t get enough selfies?
