My training is now in four week blocks, where each week focuses on one of the triathlon disciplines, and the fourth is a combined week. As of today I have officially survived running week. There were less workouts than normal (no strength workouts and no swims,) but the majority of workouts were running – Running on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
I made big improvements over this week and it wasn’t the absolute horror I thought it was going to be when I first saw the schedule, but I’ve still never been so happy to see a bike ride on my training schedule! I told my coach that running week is a pretty good racket since I would basically have paid him any amount of money not to make me run again today.
